Privacy Policy for TechUtils
TechUtils ("the App") is developed by Void Cat LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how TechUtils processes information, where data is stored, and when third-party services may receive information.
1. Overview
TechUtils does not require account creation and does not operate a first-party cloud account system for users. Most TechUtils feature data is processed and stored locally on your device.
TechUtils may send limited information to third parties when you use an online feature, use speech recognition, make a purchase, view an ad, or otherwise use a feature that depends on an external service.
2. Information TechUtils Processes
Depending on the features you choose to use, TechUtils may process the following information:
- Device and system information, such as device model, Android version, security patch level, battery status, network state, storage statistics, and similar diagnostic information.
- Battery metrics and locally stored battery history used for battery analytics, charts, and related features.
- App usage metadata used for app battery attribution and usage-related calculations.
- Wi-Fi scan information, including SSID, BSSID, signal strength, channel, and related local network information when Wi-Fi tools are used.
- Network-tool inputs and results, including IP addresses, hostnames, URLs, LAN scan results, traceroute data, speed-test results, and diagnostic output.
- Media-related metadata and file hashes used for duplicate photo and video detection. TechUtils processes these locally unless you intentionally export or share a result.
- Camera frames used by the QR scanner. QR scanning is performed on-device.
- Microphone audio and speech-recognition text when you use voice transcription features.
- User-entered information, such as notes, hostnames, URLs, converter values, and other content entered into app tools.
- Purchase entitlement status for any available "Remove Ads" in-app purchase through Google Play Billing.
3. Permissions and Why They Are Used
TechUtils requests permissions only for feature-specific purposes:

Not every permission is required for every feature. You may deny or revoke optional permissions through Android Settings, although related features may no longer work.
4. How TechUtils Uses Information
TechUtils uses information to:
- Provide battery, device, network, Wi-Fi, media, voice, converter, QR, and diagnostic features.
- Store your selected feature history and preferences locally on your device.
- Process purchases and verify any applicable "Remove Ads" entitlement through Google Play Billing.
- Provide, measure, secure, and improve advertising through Unity LevelPlay and Unity Ads.
- Prevent fraud, protect service integrity, and troubleshoot technical problems where applicable.
5. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
TechUtils does not sell your personal data for money. However, third-party services may receive information when required to provide a feature, process a purchase, deliver advertising, prevent fraud, or comply with applicable law.

Unity LevelPlay is a mediation platform. If additional ad networks are activated through LevelPlay in a future app version, those providers may receive information needed to serve an ad and may have their own privacy practices.

6. Advertising Choices and Consent
Advertising availability, consent choices, personalization options, and opt-out options may vary based on your country, device, Android version, and the active advertising configuration.
- Where legally required, advertising consent or privacy choices may be presented before certain advertising-related processing occurs.
- You may manage advertising choices through available in-app consent controls when shown.
- You may reset or delete your Android Advertising ID through Android privacy settings.
- Removing or resetting an Advertising ID does not necessarily delete data previously processed by an advertising provider.
7. Local Storage, Retention, and Data Deletion
TechUtils stores most feature data locally on your device. This can include battery history, Wi-Fi heatmaps, speed-test history, traceroute and diagnostic history, voice-transcription history, duplicate-scan cache, settings, preferences, and other feature data.
Local data remains on your device until you delete it through an available in-app control, clear TechUtils storage, or uninstall the App. Files that you intentionally export, save outside the app, or share with another app may remain in those separate locations until you delete them there.
Third-party services may retain information according to their own policies, legal obligations, fraud-prevention requirements, and retention practices.

If Android backup is enabled on your device, Android or Google backup behavior may apply independently of TechUtils.
8. Children's Privacy
TechUtils is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly create user accounts or intentionally collect personal information directly from children through a first-party TechUtils account system.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical measures within the App. However, no storage system, device, network, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when TechUtils features, permissions, advertising providers, or data practices change. The updated effective date will be posted at the top of this page.
