Privacy Policy for Battery Boss
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Battery Boss ("the App") is developed by Void Cat LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App processes, where that data is stored, and when third parties may receive data.
1. What Battery Boss Collects and Processes
Battery Boss does not require account creation and does not run a first-party backend for user data. Most processing is done on-device and most data stays locally stored on your device.
- Battery and device telemetry: battery level, charging/discharging state, current, voltage, power, temperature, and related estimates.
- Battery history and health trends: historical battery readings, charge-session stats, and capacity/health trend entries.
- Optional app usage attribution data: app package names and foreground usage duration from Android usage stats, only if you grant usage access.
- App settings: preferences such as alerts, widget/overlay options, and selected alarm sound settings.
- Advertising: the current version of the App does not display third-party ads and does not include an active third-party advertising SDK.
2. Permissions and Why They Are Used
Battery Boss requests permissions for specific features:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: status notifications, full-charge alerts, low-battery alerts, and boot reminders.INTERNET,ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: network-aware app behavior and online features where applicable.FOREGROUND_SERVICE,FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE: persistent live battery tracking service.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATSspecial access: optional per-app usage/battery attribution views.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: optional floating overlay while charging/discharging.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: optional restart/scheduling of tracking features after device reboot.
Not all permissions are required for all features. Optional features remain optional.
3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
Battery Boss uses limited third-party services:
- No active third-party ad SDK in the current version: Battery Boss currently does not send ad requests to an ad network.
Battery Boss does not sell your personal data. The App does not upload your local battery history to a first-party server operated by the developer.
4. Advertising
The current version of the App does not display third-party ads and does not include an active third-party advertising SDK.
Earlier versions of the App included Google AdMob for advertising. Users should update to the latest version for the current privacy practices described in this policy.
If advertising is added again in a future release, this Privacy Policy will be updated to identify the advertising provider and describe its data handling practices.
5. Local Storage and Retention
The App stores operational data locally on your device, including preferences and historical battery records.
- Battery history: retained with rolling cleanup logic, approximately 14 days of detailed history.
- Charge sessions: retained up to approximately 1 year.
- Battery health entries: retained up to approximately 3 years.
Data remains on-device until removed by retention cleanup, app data clear, or uninstall. If Android device backup is enabled, system backup behavior may apply.
6. Your Choices
- Deny or revoke permissions in Android Settings.
- Disable optional features such as usage access, overlay, notifications, and background tracking in app settings or Android Settings.
- Clear app data or uninstall the app to remove local data.
- Update to the latest version of the app for the current privacy practices described in this policy.
7. Children's Privacy
Battery Boss is not directed to children under 13.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical measures within the app, but no storage or transmission method is guaranteed to be 100% secure. Local data is subject to your device's security settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when app features or legal requirements change. The updated date will be posted above.
